Reasons to join South Puget Sound Republican Women's Club :
Whether or not you have been a long standing member or a fairly new member of the Lakewood Republican Women (LWR), you may wonder (at times) if your membership really matters to this club. If so, here are a few reasons to consider when deciding whether to maintain your LRW membership. Why you should stay connected:
1) Because you need to remain informed about what’s going on to be motivated to take action when action is needed. If you don’t know what’s going on, it’s unlikely you’ll care enough to pick up the phone to make that call or send an email to an elected official when you’re not happy with their vote or lack of action on issues that really matter to you.
2) Because you need to be confident that you made an informed decision to act along with other like-minded people to make a difference, or to let your officials know when you’re displeased with them. It’s up to you to hold your elected officials accountable and to support them when they try hard to accomplish something, but they’re efforts are unsuccessful; and, when they aren’t successful, encourage them to try again if the effort is truly worthwhile.
3) Because there’s lots to do and you cannot do it alone, but you can make a difference along with other Republican Women who volunteer to truly make a difference in our community and in the lives of many individuals--in big and small ways, There’s a place for you to help make a difference and see our community changed for the better--one person or project at a time.
Be a part of something bigger than yourself and choose to get involved. It all starts with one small step—committing to pay your membership dues, participating in a fun event, sharing your ideas and lending your energy and resources to help make a difference, even in your golden years and beyond.
